Noah Grant’s opens for lunch

Noah Grant'sZionsville's newest restaurant, Noah Grant's, is now open for lunch from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday.

Noah Grant's is a block west of Main Street at 65 South First. The space previously housed Brix. (And for you history buffs, before it was Brix it was an ice cream parlor.)

Yes, some friends and I gave it a try the first night they were officially open. It's a very pleasant place to sit and relax, both inside and out.

I'll give the place the benefit of the doubt since it was their first day and they were quite busy, but our party sat and relaxed for about 20 minutes before our drinks – three Martinis and a glass of wine – were delivered. (This may also be due in part to the fact that the Point Reyes blue cheese stuffed olives were individually hand-crafted to order.) My Bombay Sapphire Martini was $8, plus 50 cents for the custom olive; my companions’ Tanquerey Martinis were $7 each (plus the à la carte olives). The glass of Marquis Philips Merlot was about $6, as I recall.

They have a nice wine list with about 60 selections, 15 of which are available by the glass (again, going from memory here). Light hors d’oeuvres are available, and if you want to have dinner elsewhere in Zionsville they'll call to make reservations for you.

Bottom line: A pleasant and comfortable place to stop for a leisurely drink. And the olives are delicious....
