Nobilo Sauvignon Blanc 2007

NobiloNobilo's 2007 Sauvignon Blanc is nicely dry, with gooseberry and citrus on the nose and pink grapefruit and green apples on the palate. It's light- to medium-bodied, with a touch of honey on the finish. This wine went very well with grilled chicken seasoned with herbes de Provence and finished with lemon juice.

One feature that really makes this Nobilo wine stand out from other New Zealand Sauvignon Blancs is its closure — a cork! Apparently Nobilo hasn't jumped on the bandwagon and joined the New Zealand Screwcap Wine Closure Initiative.

While we actually prefer the screwcap (no corking issues) the Nobilo never dissapoints, is easy to find, and stands up very, very well to the higher priced Marlboroughs, ie our favorite, Cloudy Bay!!
